An award winning public relations counsellor with more than twenty-years’ experience, Sharon Goods is the founder and Senior Partner of Robinson Associates, LLC (RA), a boutique public relations consulting firm. In founding her firm, Sharon set out to bring clients exceptional quality in every aspect of work. The corporate, government and non-profit organizations, RA has been privileged serve, benefit from having a firm, which understands the challenges of influencing public opinion and knows how to overcome them.
Whether it is reputation management, executive coaching, issues mitigating, stakeholder engagement or managing inter-government relations, Sharon and the RA team provide exceptional strategies that make things happen. Sharon helps clients to manage challenging communication efforts in public engagement, public speaking, marketing, and branding to achieve a favourable outcome.
Sharon’s services for the DC Water Clean Rivers Long Term Control Plan, DDOT, DC Housing Authority, DC Health Care Finance Agency, Pepco, and Shell Oil have helped clients to reach their public and community relations objectives. She is the lead public relations executive consultant for the DC Water Clean Rivers’ initiative on the First Street Tunnel and manages community engagement to mitigate local community concerns about this $175 million large infrastructure project. In addition, she secured grassroots support and overcame regulatory hurdles to help bring the first Target retail store to the District. Also, a public relations campaign she created for Verizon helped introduce cell phone technology into our national parks and resulted in an Act of Congress.
Sharon is actively involved in the District and chaired the DC Chamber’s Economic Development Committee, served as a trustee with Greater Leadership Washington, Washington Parks and People, and the Lincoln Theater and held elected office as the Democratic State Committeewoman At-Large. In addition, she secured the support of The White House and several prominent individuals to raise $1 million in donations for Howard University Hospital.
After completing a BA from Lincoln University and a Master’s degree from Temple University, Sharon was selected for the competitive Coro Foundation’s Public Affairs Fellows program in California. Upon completion of this program, she was hired by Group W to direct public affairs for their cable television companies.
